NEXTGEN FAQs
How do I request a demo of NextGen Simulation Suite?
You can request a demo of NextGen by contacting us at (281) 494-8100 or at office@greggengineering.com. Or follow use the link at the top of the page.
How can I get my data into and out of NextGen Simulation Suite?
NextGen offers a myriad of solutions to this question.
NextGen has the capability to import and export to and from various sources of data including but not limited to excel, winflow, flowdesk, databases, opc, and flat files. For a more in depth tutorial on how to do this please reference the video tutorials.
I don't need a network based solution, can I still run NextGen Simulation Suite?
Yes. NextGen is fully functional in a single machine environment.
What are the recommended and basic system requirements?
NextGen is optimized to utilize modern processor and memory technology and therefore scales well with better equipment.
Recommended System:
- Processor: > Quad Core
- RAM: > 4GB
- Monitor: Multi-Monitor Setup
- HD Space: Varies based on setup and personal storage requirements.
Basic System:
- Processor: No Minimum
- RAM: 1GB
- Monitor: 1280 x 720
- HD Space: Varies based on setup and personal storage requirements.
What computer upgrades will benefit me?
- Faster Processor = Faster Calculation Times
- Increased Cores = More Simultaneous Multi-Scenario Runs
- More RAM = Model Larger Systems
- Bigger / More Monitors = More Data at Your Fingertips
- Faster Hard Drives = Faster Transient Simulations
- Larger Hard Drives = Store More Models or Longer Transient Tape Lengths
Are your models large? Larger models will benefit from increased RAM.
Are you running transient? Transient simulations benefit greatly from Solid State hard drives.
Are you running online (real-time)? Online simulations benefit from increased hard drive space (for historical storage).
LOAD FORECASTER FAQs
How can I get my data into and out of the Load Forecaster Suite?
The Load Forecaster offers a myriad of solutions to this question.
The Load Forecaster has the capability to import and export to and from various sources of data including but not limited to NextGen, Microsoft Excel, WinFlow, FlowDesk, databases, OPC, and flat files. It can perform these import/export actions in either a push or pull operation mode (meaning the data can drive the import/export or a user can drive it).
I don't need a network based solution, can I still run the Load Forecaster Suite?
Yes. The Load Forecaster is fully functional in a single machine environment.
What are the recommended and basic system requirements?
The Load Forecaster is optimized to utilize modern processor and memory technology and therefore scales well with better equipment.
Recommended System:
- Processor: > Quad Core
- RAM: > 4GB
- HD Space: Varies based on setup and personal storage requirements.
Basic System:
- Processor: No Minimum
- RAM: 2GB
